WELCOME BACK!

Hopefully everyone is feeling refreshed and bursting with energy looking towards this second term.

The weather certainly made a difference to feeling like we had a holiday in our house. With winter sport kicking off it has been very pleasant standing on the sideline with the sun on your back. Those frosty mornings seem a long way away.  Mmm unfortunately they are just around the corner.

Every term is busy here at Fendalton and there are several dates to write on the calendar for the start of term.

Week 1

Daily Cross Country Training

Children will need to bring their P/E uniform and shoes each day to change into for cross country training.

Winter Sport Team trials will also be taking place at lunchtimes and Friday afternoon, so children can remain in their sports gear into lunchtime with the expectation that they change into full uniform to travel home at 3.00pm.

Week 2

Cross Country  Tuesday May 1st

Rugby Fun Day  Friday May 4th ( more information to come )

Student-Learning Conferences

Tuesday 3rd April and Wednesday 4th April

Bookings for Student-Learning Conferences close this Friday 30th March.

These are 10 minute conferences where you can talk with the teacher about your child’s progress so far this year. Teachers will share your child’s updated assessment results. They will talk with you about next steps in your child’s learning. Children are able to come to these conferences to talk about their own learning. While we encourage this, it is not compulsory. Child-care is provided in the library for the short time you are involved in your child’s conference.

If you do not have access to a computer, we will have one available in the office. Visit http://www.schoolinterviews.co.nz with the code VMNXH.

FRIDAY SPORT

This Friday is our last day for Summer Sport. We would love to have lots of parent support this week, especially for those competing in ‘finals’. Please let the teacher in charge of the sport know if you can come along.

Thank you to the amazing parents who have come along to the games this season. We could not do it without you.

technology with toby

over the past few weeks room 10 have been doing technology with Toby.

we have been learning curcuits so we can make the most amazing puppet in class.

Are goals included working in our groups to write story’s to make videos to show of our puppets and to learn our circuits inside and out.

Nobody can wait until  we have done all our research and circuits so the final product can come out come out.

Electronics group

Today we have been brain storming our story  and we have found that finding ideas is really hard because we have to include  electronic puppets that move by them selves. Our puppets have to be wired with curcits.

fos learning room 10 day 1

Today my group are drafting  the story for our video and designing our robot.

We have a boy robot and 1 of the girls is going to act it out.

Technology with Toby

With toby we have been doing electronics circuits looking up to do electronic puppet video so far we are doing the story.
